In line with your stay at the EUROTOX 2015 congress in Porto, you will have the opportunity to exploit and enjoy the unique beauty of this city and its surroundings. Several tours are offered ranging from half-day visits through the city and its most attractive sights as well as exciting visits of its surroundings. Just select the one that suits you most and discover Porto!

The historic centre of Guimarăes and of Porto as well as Douro Valley were granted UNESCO World Heritage status.

The booking of the offered excursions and tours is solely possible via the online registration platform or by writing a message to the Congress Organization K.I.T Group (info@eurotox2015.org).

Tours are sold from the Congress Organization K.I.T. Group on behalf of Viagens Abreu, S.A. The prices are based on a minimum attendance of 20 people. Otherwise, rates are subject to be adjusted. Furthermore, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the tour if the number of attendees is below 20.

Half day Discovering Historical Porto

Date: Sunday, September 13, 2015
Time: 14h00 – 17h30
Duration: max. 3.5 hours
Meeting point: Alfândega Congress Center Porto, main entrance
Price per person: 37.00 €

Departing from the Alfândega building by coach, participants will enjoy a small panoramic visit in the city centre, passing by the beautiful Aliados Avenue, the Clerigos Tower and Săo Bento Train Station with its magnificent glazed tiles panels, that cover the main walls of the entrance. Continuing the visit, guests will then visit S. Francisco Church, featuring gilded carved wood interiors. From here, guests will be driven to Serra do Pilar View Point, at Vila Nova de Gaia, from where it is possible to admire a magnificent view over the Douro River and Porto, with special focus to the Ribeira Quarter, classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. Visit to Port Wine Cellars. Guests will know more about this famous and well appreciated wine and in the end will have the opportunity to taste it. Crossing D. Luis I Bridge, participants will return to Alfândega building, where this visit ends.

Half day Visiting Guimarăes

Date: Monday, September 14, 2015
Time:  09h00 - 13h00
Duration: max. 4 hours
Meeting point: Alfândega Congress Center Porto, main entrance

Departure from the Alfândega building to visit one of the most beautiful and historical cities of Portugal, Guimarăes - the Nation’s birthplace. The visit will start in the historic centre of Guimarăes classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. Stop at Largo da Oliveira one of the central places. Proceeding the walking up hill, guests will lead to the 15th century Ducal Palace, a massive and imposing 15th century building with distinctive turrets and brick chimneys. Visit and return to Porto, ending the visit at the Alfândega building.

Full day Visiting Douro Valley

Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2015
Time: 08h15 – 18h00
Duration: max. 10 hours
Meeting point: Alfândega Congress Centre Porto, main entrance
Price per persons: 159.00 €

Transfer from the Alfândega building to Sao Bento Train Station, known for its ceramic tile panels, the work of artist Jorge Colaço, which depict scenes from Portuguese history. Entering the train at Porto, guests will enjoy a special ride by train towards Régua. During the train ride, guests will be discovering the different landscapes along the way, from the city and industries atmosphere, to the beautiful green landscapes of the Douro Valley slopes. Arriving at Régua, guests will then be transferred to the rustic Quinta da Pacheca. Visit to the farm, which will include the cellars and the vines area, followed by lunch. A 50 minutes cruise along the Douro River (Régua area), will provide guest a different perspective of the Douro Valley. Return to Porto, ending the visit at the Alfândega building.
